We’ve been waiting for the day like today. One that we can always expect to come after a cold front pushes in and settles.
I first started to learn weather patterns subconsciously when I moved out to the countryside when I was 18. I lived alone with my hound dog, Mr. Beet on my family’s land in the ACE Basin. I lived as close as I could to the land those months, and passively learned about the weather patterns of this place. When cold weather arrives, it comes with a strong wind from the north, which is the direction of the pecan grove. Often moving in with strong winds, low clouds and rain, and once the front “settles” we are left behind with bluebird days- blue skies, crisp cold air, and low wind. And that’s just what I’m referring to… the day we have been waiting for. These are the Winter days I treasure, and one reason why I love Winter in the South. They are the best days to go on long walks wherever you find yourself…
